If you are confronted with a lot of stress in your life and find it difficult to relax, a meditation coaching session can be the right method for you. The positive effect of meditation has been intensively researched in the last few years. In the coaching session, I develop a special meditation with you that is tailored to your personal needs. I will record this for you, or alternatively you can directly record it on your smart phone so that you can listen to it regularly after the session. This is necessary as regular meditation is a precondition for lasting changes.
The Positive Role of Meditation Coaching
Countless Studies have shown that meditation has a positive effect on many physiological and biological aspects of one’s health. It has been shown, among other things, to:
- reduce stress, anxiety, depression and levels of pain
- improve sleep
- help attain optimal blood pressure and lower the heart rate
- build a stronger immune system
- improve concentration and attention (also in those with ADHD)
- grow self-esteem and self confidence
- create a more positive mood, and;
- assist in building an overall better quality of life.
Stress is in many cases the cause of disease and suffering. We are often not aware that we are constantly under stress and that our body is in a permanently extreme situation. The stress hormones contribute to our feeling that we are obsessed with problems of keeping appointments and time schedules, that we can no longer regenerate our bodies, be creative any more nor develop ourselves – either mentally or spiritually. This can lead to a vicious circle we cannot escape easily.
Dr. Joe Dispenza, US chiropractor and neuroscientist, is at the forefront of scientific research into the effect of meditation. Some of the results are published in his book “You are the placebo” together with fascinating research about the placebo effect, and how we can influence ourselves during meditation. Reading the book is highly recommended!
